Green Dreamer Lesson Plans

Green Dreamer
 Lesson Plan Tips

Write up your GD lesson plan.
Clearly write out and study the message you want your class to remember after you leave.
Here are a few examples.

  • 9 billion tons of plastic has been produced since1950. That’s the weight of 25,000 Empire State Buildings or 80 million blue whales.—Newsweek
  • Humans have junked 7 billion tons of plastic waste.  9% has been recycled. 79% has ended up in landfills or the environment, particularly the ocean.—Newsweek
  • Between 5 million and 13 million tons of plastic leaks into the world’s oceans each year to be ingested by sea birds, fish and other organisms. By 2050 the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish.—the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

2. Find a way to engage your students. Make sure your presentation is age appropriate.
3. Write out a step by step procedure and memorize it.
4. If you have a script memorize it.
5. If you need props prepare them ahead of time.
4. Be prepared to repeat your message to the children at the wrap up and to share some  green solutions. Take questions or comments from the students.
5. Always address the adults with respect.
6. Make your lesson worth the teaching time you're taking up.
7. Be proud that you're the change you want to see in the world!
